34 Predictions for Social Media Marketing in 2024
This is a LONG article. I read through it this morning and it took about 15 minutes, but it was excellent. It is also broken into categories, including by “social platform”. You can jump around to the topics that interest you most but I would suggest reading the whole thing.
Meta Expands Broadcast Channels to Facebook and Messenger
Messaging in general is trending “up” for connection to audiences across all platforms. While this may or may not be an option for you to explore, (especially if you have goals of being an influencer in your industry as well), it is still important to keep up on where marketing is headed. Good article for all IMO.
How Meta, TikTok ad-free tiers could impact advertiser budgets
This is “Industry news” more than a Marketing tip. The article is longer but worth reading as this “business model” for Social platforms is inevitable. You should understand how it will affect using social platforms to market your brand in the future. It might even be a good thing……..
Google Expands Access to Social Media Links in Business Listings
This is why staying up to date on marketing trends and updates is so important:
A few months ago, Google announced that they would be adding a feature to Google Business listings where you could add “social links” to your business profile (a very exciting new feature for many reasons). At that time, Oliver Finley’s google business page had not been granted access to the feature as it was a gradual roll-out.
Google business pages ARE THE MOSTR IMPORTANT tool available to you for building your brand. If you have an established (and verifiable) address that you do business from, you may be eligible to create and use a google business listing (please do the research for yourself).
This article was helpful for me as well, because I was checking in regularly to see if the feature was available for OFA, this article reminded me to check again and the feature was available! I was able to add our social platforms to our listing and I felt like the article would be good to share with all of you.

Brand interactions evolve on social media: Here’s what the numbers say
I appreciate these short, but interesting platform-usage style updates. They are the author’s opinion of course (based on the research they’ve done) but still very worthwhile to read through. Marketing strategies change almost daily/weekly and if you want to maximize the “time” you invest in growing your own online presence, why not be as educated as possible on every changing trend as they happen?
X Shares Its Vision for the Future of the App at Its First Client Council Meeting
X (formerly Twitter) should be a consideration for your Marketing mix. “X” users are a unique demographic mix IMO….and perhaps a tier of clients you wouldn’t normally connect with via Facebook/Insta, etc
With this in mind, you should know more about the platform, how it works and where it’s headed in the future. This article may help a little with the “where its headed” question.

Instagram Will Now Let You Add Up to Three Collaborators on Posts and Reels
PLEASE READ this article. This would be an interesting way of “networking” with fellow professionals on your Social platforms.. The ability to “share” with another collaborator on Insta has been around for a couple of years, this new feature just allows up to 3 now.
BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THOUGHT FOR ME WAS THIS: this would be a great feature for two or three friends (all professionals) to cross-share each other while promoting their own brand (thus expanding audience reach for all collaborators involved). The possibilities are endless.
Creative marketing is a key to success IMO. LEARNING TO USE EVERY AVAILABLE TOOL ON EACH PLATFORM WILL BE A HUGE ADVANTAGE TO YOUR BUSINESS GROWTH.
Instagram Will Now Allow Users to Download Publicly Posted Reels Content
An update to a platform that I think is important to be aware of!
Love them or loathe them Facebook groups can be a lifeline for rural communities
Facebooks “groups”….what can I say except I think they’re a great idea for client building in our Industry. From our own experience though (like our alumni group page), if you don’t maintain them well (we’re guilty), they quickly become irrelevant to anyone who joins.
That said, can you imagine creating a local facebook group dedicated to a beauty subject you’re passionate about, inviting folks to it, posting great materials regularly, asking members to contribute and share the group with others, then booking appointments from people in the group that love the subject everyone is interested in?
Sure is something to think about…..

Facebook Account Security
Meta is retiring its Code Generator feature as part of a broader update to user security settings.
The tool, which allowed users to authenticate their login session using a code from their phone, will be replaced with more robust options due to its vulnerability to attacks and its redundancy in the face of newer technology.
While only a small portion of users still utilize the feature, those who do will need to switch to alternative two-factor authentication methods such as “third-party apps like Google Authenticator, sms, and security keys.”
A system that uses missed calls as a verification method is also in development.
