The Oliver Finley Academy of Cosmetology offers an exceptional education in all aspects of the exciting and lucrative beauty industry. Our goal is to empower our students to become creative, well-trained professionals with cutting-edge expertise. To do that, we offer a unique and innovative curriculum that focuses on both theoretical and hands-on training.
At Oliver Finley, our students receive practical and technical education in their field of specialization, as well as instruction in basic business principles. These business essentials include: building clientele, promoting a business, working with others, and managing finances.
In addition to standard course work, our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of electives and distinctive programs geared toward improving expertise and confidence. Our students can elect to participate in photo shoots of their work that they can then submit to beauty industry magazines, as well as include in their portfolios for potential employers and clients.

Cosmetology (2000 Hours)

Cosmetology is the art & science of beauty–for hair, skin, nails and makeup. Successful cosmetologists become trusted professionals who transform clients from average to spectacular in one sitting. Our students excel because we help them foster their natural creativity, while using a wide-range of high-quality products, equipment, and techniques. You’ll explore multiple career options within the field–stylists, makeup artists, beauty or bridal consultants, product reps & educators, cosmetology instructors, texture or color specialists–even salon and spa ownership. Esthetics (600 Hours)

The Esthetics industry is experiencing explosive growth in the new millennium.  Male or female, young or mature individuals—anyone seeking a new career direction will discover that Esthetics is an excellent choice for a solid future.  We offer a top-notch progressive education that will open many doors of opportunity to your successful career.

In a classroom setting students gain in-depth knowledge of high-quality products, related sciences, and business skills.  Extensive experience and professional one-on-one guidance assures students graduate with real world skills and adequately prepared to pass their State of Idaho Board exams.

Students are given hands-on training in classic European and modern aesthetic disciplines, and using state-of-the-art equipment in our well-appointed Student Spa, they graduate with the confidence to work in any esthetics environment.

Nail Technology (600 Hours)

Well-adorned nails on beautifully tended hands and feet are becoming a very popular fashion trend–from solid colors, to jewel embedding, and multi-tiered paint schemes. The shape, cleanliness, color and length of nails bring out one’s personality and gives confidence to the wearer.

As you prepare for a fun and creative career in nail technology, you’ll learn how to give spa-quality manicures and pedicures, using the best professional products on the market. After studying the proper techniques, you’ll use polish, gels, acrylics, and fiber to create nail art designs on natural and artificial nails. You’ll also learn how to give relaxing hand, foot, and calf massages to your clients.

Nails have become serious business! Nail technology is the foremost and fastest growing profession within the beauty industry and the future outlook for professional in this field is bright. There are many exciting job options available–you could work in a salon or spa providing manicures and pedicures, you can become a nail salon owner, or even travel using your talents on a cruise ship or as a product representative and educator.
