Students will receive an education in both theory and practical experience in many phases of esthetics. Their education will prepare them for the professional marketplace as well as give them the necessary knowledge to successfully complete the Idaho State Board licensing exams.
Our Evening Programs are specifically designed for students who cannot attend during typical daytime hours.
We teach our students to succeed in life as well as in their careers. We ensure students get everything they need to succeed–technical expertise, communication, marketing, and management skills.
Our students learn to think critically and problem solve “outside the box”. Oliver Finley students have the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of techniques and products–including organic and green brands. We attract renowned guest speakers and our diversified curriculum keeps students abreast of new trends in the industry.
Our students get hired! Employment rates for our graduates are much higher than the industry norm-–over 82% are employed within just a few months of getting licensed.
We promote high professional standards and the unique creativity of each individual. We limit our class size and employ high-quality staff so that we can help each student develop their highest potential.
Our students learn to build and keep a clientele. Providing a great customer experience and follow-up set our students apart. We encourage students to develop their clienteles and often, by the time our seniors are close to graduation, many of them have a loyal following that request them on a regular basis.
We offer Federal Financial Aid for all programs. In an era of changing politics we continue to surpass all government standards to qualify our school as a recipient f or educational funding.
We give back to our local community. We never forget how much “feeling beautiful” boosts the confidence of all our clients, and especially those who have experienced life’s set-backs. We provide free services and hold fund-raisers to benefit non-profit groups. We believe this sets the stage for our students to become good role models and citizens.
Evening classes! Currently, we offer Evening classes in both Nails and Esthetics. A great way to work around life’s busy schedule while heading toward a new profession in the Beauty industry.
In the six short months that I have been a Student in Oliver Finley’s Nail Technology program, I have learned far more than the art, science and beautification of Nails.
Through the shared experience and knowledge of their team of Instructors, I have learned to be more patient with myself, tolerant of others and explore in a positive way, new ideas and techniques.

Eric co-founded Oliver Finley in 2005 after more than a decade of working in healthcare. During that time he served as a General Manager for Cardinal Health, a 40-billion dollar, fortune 100 company. After 8 years at Cardinal Health, Eric was offered a position as Sr. Client Executive for the Cerner Corporation which provides hospital information technology, healthcare devices, and content solutions for healthcare organizations and consumers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region. Eric also was the President of the Kiros Group, a consulting firm for acute care IV pumps. After a successful career in healthcare, Eric moved back home to Idaho for a calmer lifestyle and to raise his family of 4 children with his wife Christine. Eric attended Boise State University and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. As the Director of Corporate Operations, Eric oversees Admissions, Enrollment and General Operations. He also spends some time in the classroom teaching students money-management and business start-up skills.
Kurt has excelled in the hair industry and as a stylist for more than 2 decades -– since 1988. After graduating from the prestigious Von Curtis Academy of Hair Design in Utah he continued honing his skills at the world renowned Architects and Heroes Salon in San Francisco. When his second child was born, Kurt moved back home to Idaho where he now enjoys family-life with his wife Shelly and his four daughters. As a co-founder, partner, and Director of Education at Oliver Finley Academy, Kurt is realizing his dream of instructing others in the craft he loves. In addition, he continues his successful career as a top stylist downtown Boise. Because he believes in high-quality continuing education and staying current with the professional trends in the cosmetology field, he regularly attends conventions, shows, and trainings throughout the country. Oliver Finley reaps the rewards because he always brings back cutting-edge, fresh ideas that keep our students and staff inspired and growing.
